Gov. Pawlenty is scheduled to hit the road again this weekend. He'll be speaking to the Values Voter Summit in Washington D.C. tonight and will speak in Ohio tomorrow. If you're interested in seeing his speech to the Values Voter Summit, I'm told it will be webcast here.
The South Dakota Republican Party also announced today that Pawlenty will speak at an event in Rapid City in October.
MPR News has been keeping track of Pawlenty's out of state schedule since he announced on June 2nd that he wouldn't seek a third term. You can check where he's been and where he's scheduled to speak on the map below.
We'll continue to add events as we become aware of them. Please let us know if we've missed engagements or if you have a line on future events.
Thanks to MPR's Curtis Gilbert and Steve Mullis for putting the map together.
Glad he is getting out in the rest of the country, hopefully spreading some of what makes MN great to the rest of the country, as long as he is still doing his job here. Also, writer needs to proof read, not just spell check 'even- event?
Our once-moderate, responsible governor has become a naional demagogue and a part-time chief executive for the state.
And who is paying for these trips?
MAP WORTH $$ TO DEMOCRATIC PARTY!!
Where was your map, MPR, when Barack Obama abandoned the Senate for over two years to run for President? Or is this not just a part of the usual political process? If such is the case, than your promise to update the “map” looks a bit silly and, at the very least, like a partisan political contribution, worth $$ to the Democratic party
The groups, be it a GOP candidate, group or party, almost always pay for the trip.
Thanks for the correction, spell check didn't pick it up. I'll fix.
As for a map of Barack Obama, we would have done it if he represented Minnesota. We cover Minnesota politics afterall.
If Klobuchar, Franken or others consider runs for president, we'd do the same thing.
Look it doesn't matter who it is Barack or Pawlenty. If a politician has higher aspirations and spends the majority of their last months/years of their current administration campaigning for a new job, they should be required to resign and go for it. If not then campaign laws should changed so that campaigning can NOT start until the term is over... period. If any of us mortals acted like this we would be fired on the spot. We should ALL be outraged.
