President Obama will speak at the Target Center in Minneapolis on Saturday. He's scheduled to speak at 12:30. Rally is free and open to the public. First come, first served. Here are the details from the White House:

President Obama to Hold Health Insurance Reform Rally in Minneapolis, MN Saturday

WASHINGTON, DC - On Saturday, September 12, 2009, President Barack Obama will travel to Minneapolis, Minnesota to hold a rally on health insurance reform.

In Minneapolis on Saturday, President Obama will discuss what's at stake for the American people in this debate - why we need health insurance reform and why we need to act now.

President Obama's health insurance reform plan has two goals-to bring stability and security to Americans who have insurance today, and affordable coverage to those who don't. And his plan will bring reforms that will reduce the unsustainable growth in the cost of health care, which has doubled in the last decade and will again, unless we act.

The rally will be free and open to the public. Space is available on a first come, first serve basis. No ticket is required.

Rally on Health Insurance Reform with President Barack Obama

Target Center 600 First Avenue North Minneapolis, MN 55403

Doors Open: 9:30 am CT

Program start time: 12:30 pm CT.

This event is free and open to the public. Space is available on a first come, first serve basis. No ticket is required. All attendees will go through airport-like security and should bring as few personal items as possible. No bags, no sharp objects, no umbrellas, no liquids, no strollers, and no signs will be allowed into the venue. Cameras are permitted.

How early would a person need to be in line to get into the Target Center for the President's Speech?

I would suggest that you get there by 8:30 am at the latest. There will already be quite a line at that point, I bet.

We waited in line for almost 4 hours to hear him speak at the Target Center last year, before he was President. I'd say getting there at 8:30am is too late.

Hi. Will we be able to purchase beverages and/or food in Target Center? Keeping hydrated will be especially important. Thank you.

I would get there early. I remember people lined up at like 4AM to get in last time he spoke there. I believe there will be concession stands open but I would call the Target Center to clarify.

I believe all protesters should stay at home. You cry and complain about what our president is doing. However, I'm sure you all don't have any better solutions.

Posted by Lance Handy | September 12, 2009 3:10 AM

Lance - Are you anti-American? Our president sure is. He's shoving this down our throats when the American people are saying we do NOT want this. That's what protesting is all about. If we say nothing now, then we don't have the right to protest once it's law. Now IS the time to protest. We all have better solutions. The politicians aren't listening.

Lynn: Are you a nut? He is the President of the USA. How dare you call him ani-American What are you protesting. The right for all to have heathcare? Do you know how foolish Republicans sound. Obama is trying to help American while Republicans are trying to destroy Obama. I have the same healthcare as congress and wish the same for all americans.

Posted by lindahend | September 12, 2009 8:57 AM

lindahend, do you know that the bill for the average americans insurance is very different than the ones the coverage that congress and the senate has or will have. Pelosi and Reid have refused to agree to take the same insurance plan as the one they are proposing. taxpayers pay for theirs, but they come up with a cheaper rationed plan for the people who pay for it. it doesn't make sense

Posted by mat | September 12, 2009 9:35 AM

Mat & Lynn You seem to have a beef with Pelosi and Reid. (Talk Radio) Do you have healtcare? If so, good. If not, God bless you. Have you seen any plan? Republicans are just trying to destroy Obama. Obama is just trying to help Americans that are unisured. All you can think of is a protest. Just exactly what do want to protest. How do you propose to give heathcare to the unisured. Protest!!!???? Are you going to listen to Obama or make rash decisions baste on talk radio who want to help Ins Co make high profits. With Obamas plan the Ins Co will lose its profits because they will be cut out. Obama plan will cut prem cost. Listen to more of what is being said and not talk radio and the Ins Companies. Anyway, most of the what is being protested have nothing to do with heathcare. Republicans messages are all over the place. I am a retired Wash DC federal employee and continue to have great coverage. I wish the same for all. How would you fix healthcare? I don't have a clue. That is why I am listening and not protesting.

I wonder, who is paying for the cost to rent the target center for the day? It can't be cheap. I find it amazing that the government is allowed to use our tax dollars for mass marketing campaigns like this to convince people to give up even more of their liberties. Where is the free money for the other side to rent facilities and present their ideas?

The once independent spirit of this country is gone as whole generations have now been raised to expect everything to be "free" and that the government is the savior of all their ills. And unfortunately these same folks think an already bankrupt government can best provide services. Amazing to me, they've already run up a $12 TRILLION dollar deficit, and you trust them to manage your health care? I think people will get what they deserve and unfortunately drag the rest of us with them. Soon we'll all be standing in line for government sponsored health care. Those same people must love the service they get at the post office, the department of transportation, the IRS, etc... This country is headed no where but down hill and fast....

What about the unemployed that don't have coverage only due to the stock exchange. They don't deserve insurance? Many people can't afford $400 per month + copayment. Can't we even look at options without the Republicans blasting it. What did they do with 8 years? Absolutely nothing because that's their MO. The US seems to be on Hold waiting for something positive. Hear the man out or LEAVE!

I wonder: Who is paying for the tea party in DC today. Their message is not about heathcare. Get real. You are way out their. With all the problems you are concerned about who but the government can fix it. Why are you attacking the government. If the government can't fix the problems, just who do you think will. You made the statement this country is failing. Well, it was the last eight years that caused your so call failure. The $12 T that you are talking about, most of it was the result of the Bush administration which gave tax breaks to the rich but was not paid for. If you must attack the government, attach Bush. included two wars.

Do you know where there is a place to protest?
