I'm told that the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee just placed another large advertising buy at the TV stations (in addition to the other buys I reported on). The source said the DSCC is spending another $350 thousand in the market to help Al Franken get elected
Meanwhile...
I'm told that GOP Sen. Norm Coleman has reserved time at all of the stations to run an unusual two minute ad on Monday night. The ad is scheduled to run at 6:58, right before Prime Time.

GOP Sen. Norm Coleman lashed back at Democrat Al Franken and his "Democratic allies" for an ad that he says "goes after his family." Coleman retaliated with an ad of his own that criticizes Franken.
The latest developments come after Coleman's name surfaced in a lawsuit that alleges that a long-time donor and friend of Coleman was trying to funnel money to Coleman through his wife's employer. Coleman flatly denied any wrongdoing.
Here's audio from Coleman's interview with reporters.

Franken held a news conference in St. Paul to react to Coleman's latest ad. He said Coleman's accusation that he is somehow behind the whole thing is ridiculous.

A listener from St. Paul sent me this wondering how the Minnesota GOP (which paid for this flyer) could confuse the number of votes needed to end a filibuster (60) with the number of votes needed to override a veto (67).

Should we chalk this up to a last minute lack of proofreading or a poor understanding of the constitution? If the Democrats somehow end up with 67 Senate seats after the election that REALLY would be news!
