DCCC goes after Paulsen

Posted at 11:18 AM on September 20, 2008 by Tom Scheck (2 Comments)

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is going after Republican Erik Paulsen in a big way. Here's the ad:

A check of a local station TV buy shows that the DCCC has reserved ad time through election day. The DCCC's Republican counterpart, the NRCC, also reserved ad time between October 14th and election day. Why the delay? The DCCC has a big fundraising advantage and the NRCC is playing defense.

The outside buys signal how competitive the open seat in Minnesota's 3rd Congressional District is between Paulsen and DFLer Ashwin Madia. Independence Party Candidate David Dillon is also running.

The blog has always thought Paulsen's voting record in the Minnesota House (especially in the year that they had a one vote advantage) could put him at risk. Which leads us to...

Question of the Day: Is the DCCC ad fair?
