Lott picks Coleman as Deputy Minority Whip

COLEMAN SELECTED BY LOTT TO SERVE AS DEPUTY MINORITY WHIP

Washington D.C.—Senator Norm Coleman today was selected by Senator Trent Lott (R-MS), the incoming Senate Republican Whip, as one of seven Deputy Whips for the 110th Congress.

“I am honored to have been selected by Senator Trent Lott to take on the role of a Deputy Whip in the upcoming 110th Congress,” said Coleman. “I intend to use this position to bring greater attention to the issues and concerns that are of importance to Minnesotans. It also allows me to apply a practical Minnesota perspective of identifying common ground to accomplish real solutions for working families.”

Senator John Thune (R-SD) will serve as Lott’s Chief Deputy Whip. The following Senators have also been selected for the position of Deputy Whip: John Sununu (R-NH), Richard Burr (R-NC), Larry Craig (R-ID), James Inhofe (R-OK), Olympia Snowe (R-ME), and David Vitter (R-LA)
