Cheney for Bachmann

Posted at 1:06 PM on June 27, 2006 by Bob Collins (3 Comments)

At Bachmann vs. Wetterling, Andy Aplikowski has put up some pictures and a very interesting description of the Cheney fundraiser for Michele Bachmann yesterday. Also some good pix. Looked like a decent day to be hanging out near Lake Minnetonka.

Cheney's theme this week
is the New York Times decision to print the story about government monitoring of bank data.

That was the topic on MPR's Midday today. It's always great to hear Mike Mulcahy on the air. And he did a fine job moderating a discussion with Jane Kirtley, the director of the Silha Center for the Study of Media Ethics and Law at the University of Minnesota; and
Scott Johnson, the Minneapolis attorney who writes for the conservative Power Line blog.

That almost sounded like a compliment.

Jeez, people are going to get the wrong idea about us, Bob.

21 bathrooms. Half a dozen kitchens. 3 or 4 bars. Dance floor. Indoor pool. a dozen porches and decks. The Hawks were gracious hosts. This home was just like the kind you see on MTV’s Cribs. Words can’t even describe it. Oh, and the boats. 1 inboard ski boat. 1 25 ft runabout. 1 35 ft cabin cruiser. Oh and the prize a 30 something Criscraft in a floating boat house. (insert drooling male sound here) I’d say both men and women were happy with the venue given the array of amenities.

Yup, just your average home in Bachmann's 6th Congressional District. Ooops! Lake Minnetonka is nowhere near the 6th Congressional District. Did Sen. Bachmann get lost on her way to represent the 6th? Are there no homes nice enough in the 6th for our vice president? Does he require 21 bathrooms wherever he goes? Inquiring minds want to know.

I saw your "bouncer" picture at the event. I'm not messing with you. I've got a wife and kids. (g)
