Teens and Tolerance: Call for Commentary Submissions

Posted at 3:42 PM on February 24, 2012 by Julia Schrenkler

We are interested in high-school aged students' experiences in solving problems across
faith and culture, and invite students to share opinions in response to the statement,

"Working across faith and culture is the best way to solve problems." What do you believe to be true (or not) about this statement?

MPR will select finalists from the submission entries, who will get to participate in a workshop at
Minnesota Public Radio with MPR News Commentary Editor Eric Ringham. In the workshop, you'll get to learn about writing commentary for radio, refine and even record your statements.

Students may be also invited to read their submissions in front of a crowd of
friends, family and community members at MPR's public event at Neighborhood House!

Submission requirements:

All submissions by high school aged students (grades 9-12) are welcome.
Commentaries must be 600 words or fewer.
Submissions are due by Tuesday February 28, 2012, emailed to teensandtolerance@mpr.org
