From the desk of MPR Digital Media Intern Kjersten Conway:
In his first appearance since the recent Egyptian revolution, revered archaeologist, National Geographic Explorer in Residence and Egyptian Minister of State for Antiquities Dr. Zahi Hawass will provide insights into how recent events have impacted Egypt's antiquities. Join us for "Egypt Past and Present" on Friday, June 10th at 8:00pm at the Fitzgerald Theater in downtown St. Paul.
Dr. Hawass will present his newest discoveries from Egypt and shine some light on the latest scientific findings on King Tut. This one night only lecture, an adjunct to the Science Museum of Minnesota's "Tutankhamun: The Golden King and the Great Pharaohs" exhibit, should not be missed! A VIP Reception will be held prior to the lecture, across the street at the McNally Smith College of Music from 6:30 - 7:30pm.
Doors for the main event will open at 7:00pm and the lecture will begin at 8:00pm, with a Q & A session and book signing to follow. Seating availability is limited!
Tickets to "Egypt Past and Present" cost $17.50 per person and $12.50 for MPR or Science Museum Members. There are event/exhibit combos and VIP packages available as well. Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster or at the Fitzgerald Box Office.
