Behold, February. The weather might not be temps to your taste, but if you're looking for vitamin D Bob Collins' 5x8 News Cut post this morning holds hope:
Sunrise this morning in the Twin Cities was around 7:30, the earliest since November 30. The sky is brightening by 7. In the afternoon, there's still some twilight in the west at 6 p.m. That's winter heading for your rear-view mirror...
Well that's a glimmer of sunshine. If it isn't enough and you're suffering from full blown cabin fever, how about branching out and trying a new restaurant? Courtesy The Current, Dining With Dara: Cabin Fever Busting!
Spice and new scenery not enough? Maybe a little music. The Current's 9:30 Coffee Break theme was inspired by their talk with Dara, and titledCabin Fever, Continued. Hosts take song suggestions on the theme and play a set at 9:30 a.m. each weekday morning. Here was the result:
* Bon Iver, "Flume" (recorded in a cabin in the middle of the woods in winter)
* The Animals, "We Gotta Get Out Of This Place"
* Peggy Lee, "Fever"
* Bjork, "It's Oh So Quiet"
* Joy Division, "Isolation"
*The Kills, "U.R.A. Fever"
Read the comments for more break-out music and add your own pick-me-up tunes to the list.
