Women voters

Posted at 9:26 AM on August 18, 2010 by Julia Schrenkler

It was 90 years ago today that women won the right to vote. MPR hosts online questions and an entire event!

Today's Question: How have women changed American politics?

Tonight at the Fitzgerald Theater MPR Events presents The Women's City Cabaret, hosted by Jearlyn Steele. The musical guest list knocks me out: Andra Suchy, jazz/pop singers Connie Evingson and Debbie Duncan, Lori Dokken on piano, Nona Marie Invie and The Twin Cities Women's Choir. On top of that?

Suzanne Pekow of MPR News will present a field report on an issue related to women's history and expect an audio postcard from Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar. More friends will be joining us such as World War II Women Airforce Service Pilots member (WASP) Elizabeth Strohfus, Saint Paul Poet Laureate Carol Connolly and Keesha Gaskins of the Minnesota Chapter of the League of Women Voters. Members of a local Girl Scout troupe will greet the audience and assist them to their seats.

Event begins at 7:30 p.m. All tickets are $20. If you use Twitter, use hashtag #WoCityC
