"This is one of a large number of apple varieties developed by the University of Minnesota in a decades-long research program. The numbered cultivars have not been released for general cultivation, but the apples themselves are sold in the fall at the Apple House. The Apple House and associated apple research are associated with the University's Minnesota Landscape Arboretum.Your own photos and perspectives are welcome in our photo pool. This particular batch of apples (I bought a bag of them) was classified as "second quality" - thus the various minor flaws. They're crisp and tart, with a distinct floral component to the flavor (my evaluation)."
