Last week Midmorning guest Dr. Arnold Armmann joined us for an online chat about HIV | AIDS and prevention. One of his points inspired Gather regular Susan Budig to kick off a fresh discussion about the politics of disease. Budig proposes:
"[...] Dr. Ammann suggests that certain diseases such as [all] cancer doesn't carry the same social, communal, or political weight that AIDS/HIV carries. I offer the possibility that many, if not most cancers are much more social and political in nature than might initially be indicated."

Add your question to the online discussion: What would you ask McCain and Obama if you were selected to attend tonight's Town Hall debate in Tennessee? Some replies so far are quite interesting:
"I would ask if they have plans to bring back the draft." - Sue B.Share what you'd ask and catch the debate tonight."Boxers or briefs?" - Liz G
"I would ask both how serious they are about a national works program employing people to rebuild our crumbling infrastructure and when it would begin." - Carol Lloyd
