Your vote: How significant is a presidential running mate?

Posted at 6:14 PM on March 16, 2008 by Julia Schrenkler

MPR's Public Insight Journalism crew is looking for your voting experiences:

"As the office of the vice president has become increasingly powerful, increased scrutiny and speculation comes when it's time to pick a running mate.

We want to know how past vice presidential candidates have affected your vote."

I'm thinking back to some "potential vice president" moments, like James Stockdale's (Ross Perot's running mate in the '92 campaign) unfortunate television appearance. Yet, consider how often the vice president is tapped to run as a successor or in a future race. Can a potential vice president make or break your vote? Join the Public Insight Network by telling us: What is the significance of a running mate?
