On February 28, 2008, Art Hughes reported Jax family sues her friends and Mankato bar over her drinking death, in which the family is charging that her friends purchased drinks for her. (Note these are civil, not criminal, charges.) March 1, 2008, Toni Randolph reported that an Excelsior man was sentenced to jail for his role in a drinking-related death of 19-year-old.
While Amanda Jax was of age, both situations come down to the provision of alcohol. At what point are we responsible for those around us? Have you ever provided alcohol, or even too much alcohol, to another person? How do you recognize - and stop - those around you from binge drinking?
