Very excited about a vice president?

Posted at 8:30 AM on March 24, 2008 by Julia Schrenkler

From MPR The making of the vice president:

There has been lots of speculation about running mates lately: Will Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama join forces for a so-called "dream ticket?" Might Gov. Tim Pawlenty be angling to run alongside John McCain? History has some clues.

Of course MPR makes the history available, you can view a timeline of unveiling the vice president. As you scroll through the past, consider joining our Public Insight Network by answering this question: What is the significance of a running mate?

What music lifts your spirits?

Posted at 12:28 PM on March 24, 2008 by Julia Schrenkler

The Musicheads have an entertaining discussion about "go-to songs" that are good for a little pick-me-up. Some (of the wildly varying) replies include:

"Jimmy Buffett's One Particular Harbor" - Marianne R.

"Chaka Khan 'Ain't Nobody and 'I Feel For You'; Boston's 'More Than A Feeling'" - Corrisa M.

"...off the top of my head 'Three Little Birds' by Bob Marley and the Wailers" - Melissa W.

Of course there's plenty of pop and even an shout-out to Bach. Chime in with your own answer and share the joy.

Tomorrow on MPR's Midmorning:

A Navy admiral speaks out against policies on the interrogation and treatment of terror suspects.

GUEST: Rear Admiral John D. Hutson (retired) served as the Navy's judge advocate general from 1997 to 2000. He currently serves as the President and Dean of Franklin Pierce Law Center in Concord, New Hampshire.

Admiral Hutson will take audience questions online for 30 minutes after he appears on air. Post your questions for Admiral Hutson - advance questions welcome.
