What are your experiences with airport security screening?

Posted at 8:13 AM on March 5, 2008 by Julia Schrenkler

Bob Collins has a question:

"Have you been through an airport screening system lately? How much of a hassle was it, really?"

The head of the Transportation Security Administration has been directed to think outside the box (Bob links to the CNN story) but what exactly does that look like? What improvements that would speed the process - while retaining or improving security - would you suggest? Read and comment on MPR's News Cut.

Send a joke to A Prairie Home Companion

Posted at 2:40 PM on March 5, 2008 by Julia Schrenkler

GK and company are readying a joke show for this Saturday, March 8. From the Web site:

Computer jokes, chickens crossing the road, lightbulbs, blondes, political jokes, priests/rabbis/preachers, Ole and Lena, a man walked into the bar, elephants, penguins, cougars, any jokes — even tasteless ones — send them in. And then tune in on March 8.

Sounds like fun, if you're funny. Send them a joke by email. Turns out if they use your joke (you have to be the first person to send it in, now, and comply with all the site terms) in the show, they'll bestow a "complimentary ENGLISH MAJORS 2-CD set" as a thank you gift.

Need laughs now? Here's the archive of last year's joke show.
