Whether you're behind the wheel or a pedestrian, are you in the hands of fate?

* Traffic fatalities increase slightly in 2007 We're up to 503 people deaths on Minnesota roads last year, an increase from from 494 deaths in 2006. The fine print is that 2006 was a 60-year low.

* Bob Collins considers the cellphone-traffic jam connection, but Collins doesn't want to rely on fancy-pants studies. He wants to hear from you,

"On the way home today, check out the people on cellphones. Are they at the front of the jam? How many car lengths behind the people in front? And report back here. Do not type while driving, however."

* The Sober Guy brings drunk drivers home, at least if you live in Fargo. Kristina Miller of Minneapolis wonders if this model couldn't work for sober walking escorts.
