Pilots in the news and a pilot who covers the news

On the MPR homepage I discovered a few pilots in the news.

Marine pilots' stories collected in new book
Turns out two Minnesotans (and former Marine Corps fighter pilots) both wrote and compiled stories from other Marine pilots in order to publish the collection. I'll wager that fans of the greatest generation will enjoy the news feature and the book itself, "Marine Wings."

Leo Thorsness' flight into history
A Minnesota native grows up to receive the Medal of Honor and become one of the best-known combat pilots of the Vietnam War.

MPR also has a pilot in the newsroom. Bob Collins does too much work to list here, whether he's blogging on Polinaut, editing online news features, or focusing on various projects. But ask anyone in the newsroom to describe Collins himself and I'd wager we'd all include the fact that he's a private pilot who is building his own airplane.
