Yesterday I wrote about the Fever for the fervor of online comments and decided to kick off a discussion on our groups at Gather.com, Can online comments be civil? Do comments reflect on the community or on the individual?
One of the first replies came from David K., who opened with this perspective,
"I believe that the tone and attitudes people show in their comments are reflections of who they are. If they are crass and uncivil, their comments will be crass and uncivil."
I wonder if the commenters cited in Post's piece would see themselves that way?
