E-recycling program shuts down a day early
Posted at 12:44 PM on November 16, 2007 by Melanie Sommer (1 Comments)
The three-day free electronics recycling event at the Mall of America was apparently too successful, since the organizers have ended it a day early.
According to the AP: "The three-day event was supposed to go until tomorrow, but it
ended this morning. People could drop off their old computers or TVs free of charge.
But the volume of traffic became too much to handle.
On the first day alone, 5,000 cars passed through, dropping off
1 million pounds of old electronics."
MPR's Bob Collins was one of those who sat in the long line Thursday, waiting his turn to drop off some stuff.
You can find other places to drop off your electronics waste at www.greenguardian.com.

It's absolutely ridiculous that there is no other resource for people who want to dispose of their old electronic equipment. Hennepin County has free recycling for it's residents... why not Ramsey????? Come on Ramsey County, get on the ball here!!!!!
