Midmorning: Bridge safety and great leaders

The 35W bridge collapse is shining a spotlight on bridge safety around the country. At 9 a.m., Midmorning's guests talk about the challenges of improving the nation's infrastructure. The include David Billington, engineering professor at Princeton University; Glenn Washer, a civil engineer who teaches at the University of Missouri-Columbia; and Kevin Nelson, manager of bridge division for city of St. Paul.
At 10 a.m., a historian talks with Kerri Miller about the qualities that defined some of history's great leaders. Joseph Ellis is author of American Sphinx and Founding Brothers: The Revolutionary Generation.
