Posted at 7:56 AM on June 12, 2007 by Bill Wareham

A couple more encore programs on Midmorning:

At 9 a.m., writer Calvin Trillin, who spent a good part of his life trying to impress Alice, his wife of 36 years. His new book About Alice is a loving and funny memoir of a remarkable woman and a happy marriage.

At 10 a.m., Midmorning discusses and debates the literary top ten. A book critic asked more than a hundred of today's most well-known writers what they think are the top ten greatest literary works of all time, and got some interesting responses. Kerri Miller's guests are Peder Zane, book review editor for the Raleigh News & Observer and editor The Top Ten: Writers Pick Their Favorite Books; Tom Perotta, a novelist whose work includes Election, Joe College and Little Children; and Gail Godwin, a novelist whose works include The Odd Woman and Queen of the Underworld.
