In the Loop heads to Dorothy Day homeless shelter

Posted at 3:20 PM on June 18, 2007 by Bill Wareham

The In the Loop crew will forsake the comforts of the UBS Forum this month to take the show on the road to the Dorothy Day Center, the primary shelter for the homeless in downtown St. Paul. Dorothy Day is just a few blocks up the street, but can feel miles away for those of us who don't face the challenges of chronic homelessness.

In the Loop's host/producer Jeff Horwich spent a night at the shelter last week to get a firsthand feel for the place, and chronicled his expererience on The Loophole blog.

This month's taping won't be open to the public, but I hope you'll tune in the show on MPR News stations Friday, June 29 at 9 p.m. or Sunday, July 1 at 6 p.m.
