At 11 a.m., the latest goings on at the Legislature. Gary Eichten and guests will focus mostly on the K-12 education bill. Joining Gary will be the bill's chief authors, Rep. Mindy Greiling, DFL-Roseville and Sen. Tarryl Clark, DFL-St. Cloud.
At noon, a discussion about immigration, from the Great Conversations series at the University of Minnesota's College of Continuing Education. The speakers are Donna Gabaccia of the university's Immigration History Research Center and journalist Ruben Martinez, author of The New Americans and Crossing Over: A Mexican Family on the Migrant Trail.
Congratulations on the best immigration program I have ever heard.
I work closely with immigrants and their dairy farm employers in rural WI, MN and IA.
I take these employers to Mexico to meet their employees' families and see their communities. I have done this for 6 years now. I understand the rural immigration situation pretty well. This was the best show you have done. Thank you. I would love for you to see the positive things that are happening in the rural areas. We are doing a lot of good in helping people understand immigration and helping the immigrants understand us as well as helping the immigrants' families in Mexico trust us. Lots of good things.
