It's not all Big J talk around here

When we're not cogitating about Big Journalism topics, the professional chatter can be pretty mundane, punctuated by bursts of humor. Today's issue: the best bag for toting reporter gear - recorders, cameras, mics, etc. St. Cloud bureau chief Tim Post's strong desire for the outdoors look made me laugh.
I've always thought a fishing tackle bag would make a great equipment tote.
Hear me out.
They're about half the price of camera bags, they've got tons of pockets, just take those plastic tackle compartments out and you have plenty of space. I saw one at a sporting goods store with a rubber bottom that looked like an all season radial, perfect for plopping down in the Minnesota slush.
Lugging around a bag that says "Bass Pro Shops" may result in snickers from the fashion conscious. Regardless, I pray daily that a pack of wild dogs tears my equipment bag to shreds so I can replace it with a tough looking fishing tackle bag.
