The problems with CriMNet
Posted at 10:36 AM on December 28, 2006 by Melanie Sommer
MPR reporters Dan Gunderson and Elizabeth Stawicki have spent a fair amount of time looking at the progress, and lack thereof, in implementing the CriMNet program. It's a system that was first set up a decade ago, and its goal is to have all criminal justice agencies in the state -- every police department, sheriff's office, courtroom, prison, etc. -- be hooked together to share the most current information about criminals and suspects. But it's far from complete, as our reporters found out... and may never accomplish that lofty goal. You can find their stories here.
