Midday: Immigration and Iraq duty

Posted at 9:08 AM on December 14, 2006 by Bill Wareham

At 11 a.m. we'll bring you a couple of special reports from Minnesota Public Radio and National Public Radio on illegal immigration.

Then from 11:30 to 1, Midday's topic will be the Minnesota National Guard in Iraq. You'll hear the story of one guard soldier's experiences going to war in Iraq--and his return home.
And at noon.... Minnesota National Guard Adjutant General Larry Shellito will be Gary Eichten's studio guest to talk about the thousands of Minnesotans who have served in Iraq and those who will return home early next year. There are three funerals this week for Minnesota Guard soldiers.... ten members of the National Guard have died in the Iraq war. Six-hundred Minnesota Air National Guard are headed to Iraq next month.
