Special Thankgiving programming on Midmorning and Midday
Posted at 5:26 PM on November 22, 2006 by Bill Wareham
At 9 a.m. on Thursday we'll rebroadcast a show featuring Nathaniel Philbrick, the author of Mayflower: A Story of Courage, Community, and War. He's also the author of In the Heart of the Sea, an account of the real-life whaling voyage that inspired Moby Dick.
From 10 a.m. to noon we'll turn to our own Thanksgiving tradition - Lynne Rossetto Kasper's annual Turkey Confidential progam, a show she describes as "2 hours of live culinary triage on the day you need it most." You can find out all about it on this section of The Splendid Table site.
Then at noon, another tradition - Giving Thanks, a special produced by John Birge, the morning host on MPR's classical music service.
