Midmorning: Liberian reconciliation and Sen. Dean Johnson
Posted at 7:42 AM on November 17, 2006 by Bill Wareham
A Minnesota human rights group is part of new model of reconciling victims and perpetrators in Liberia's civil conflict. At 9 a.m., the leader of both the Minnesota group and the chairman of the Liberian Truth and Reconciliation Commission join Kerri Miller in the studio.
At 10 a.m, Kerri's guest is state Sen. Dean Johnson, DFL-Willmar, who was defeated in last week's election. Johnson is a fascinating political figure - a former Senate minority leader as a Republican who switched parties and became the majority leader. He'll offer his perspective on the coming legislative session, with a Republican governor and a DFL-dominated legislature.
