MPR's Bob Kelleher looks at the race to succeed Sen. Becky Lourey, DFL-Kerrick. Lourey, you'll recall, gave up the northeastern Minnesota seat to run for governor, then lost in the primary. Her son Tony Lourey is hoping his mother, but there's another well-known area politician in the race - former state Senator Dan Steven of Mora.
In the latest of our campaign issues pieces, Mark Zdechlik reports on where the major party U.S. Senate candidates stand on taxes. (All previous issues reports, and much more, are available on our Campaign 2006 site.)
In the editorial version of missing a free throw, I was off the mark yesterday when I said Morning Edition host Cathy Wurzer would be talking to Vern Mikkelson on Wednesday. That interview is scheduled to run Thursday.
And since it's Thursday, arts commentator Dominic Papatola will make his weekly visit to the studio.
