On ATC: A post-Twins WCCO, Mpls fire chief speaks and a look at "outsider art"

Posted at 3:18 PM on October 6, 2006 by Bill Wareham

As I write this the Minnesota Twins are down 4-1 to the A's, which means we could be hours away from the end of the this season. It would also mark the end of a four-decade association between the Twins and flagship broadcaster WCCO-AM. MPR's Martin Moylan looks at the implications of that breakup.

Brandt Williams reports that the city of Minneapolis will pay out nearly $100,000 to settle two sexual discrimination lawsuits against the city and Fire Chief Bonnie Bleskachek. The women had alleged that Bleskachek unfairly denied them opportunities to advance. Also today, the City Council voted to expand a city-initiated investigation of Bleskachek.

A new exhibit in Minneapolis presents works by artists from the United States, Canada, Europe and Australia. What links these artists together is that they're all considered "outsiders." Marianne Combs has that story.
