On ATC this afternoon

Posted at 4:13 PM on September 5, 2006 by Bill Wareham

For a lot of students, today marks the first day of school. In St. Paul, it's also the first day for a new charter school, a Chinese language immersion school. Art Hughes will have a report on All Things Considered.

Also in the first-day-of-school category, political reporter Laura McCallum will report on Gov. Pawlenty's new TV ad and what it says about education policy.

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota is calling for mandated universal health coverage in the state. BCBS president Colleen Reitan made the proposal today in a presentation at the University of Minnesota; MPR's Lorna Benson attended and will have a report.
