Gubernatorial debate live on Midday on Thursday

Posted at 10:18 AM on September 13, 2006 by Bill Wareham

We've had a devil of a time scheduling gubernatorial debates - Gov. Pawlenty has turned us down and Mike Hatch has declined to attend candidate forums if Pawlenty isn't going to be there. Independence Party candidate Peter Hutchinson has pretty much agreed to debate anyone at any time, but it's not really a debate if only one candidate shows.

However, all three major party candidates have accepted invitations to the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce debate tomorrow in Bloomington. We're planning to broadcast and stream the event live on Midday beginning at 12:30 Thursday. I expect this will be very interesting and set the tone for the rest of the campaign.
