Ethnic music series on ATC this week
Posted at 2:16 PM on August 28, 2006 by Bill Wareham
The weeklong series Notes from Home: Ethnic Music in Minnesota debuts this evening on All Things Considered. Regular readers of the News Grid have probably correctly deduced that I am a huge music fan, so I'm looking forward to this series. (Online secret for News Grid readers: much of the series has already been posted here.)
As the online blurb explains:
The traditional music of Minnesota's immigrant and refugee populations not only connects them to their homeland, but provides a foundation for life in America.
That sounds interesting, but if you're like me you'll be most interested in hearing the music - not only will you be able to hear it in the stories, but we have audio samples available online with each story.
