Watching the mercury (and other stuff) today
Posted at 9:40 AM on July 31, 2006 by Bill Wareham
I don't know whether this picture of the 1940 Armistice Day blizzard will help me feel cooler today. Like everyone, I'm wondering whether we'll hit the triple-digit temps forecast for today? We'll have reporters keeping an eye on the thermometer and checking around the region for how folks are coping.
Also today, Gov. Pawlenty is flying around the state to announce he's signed an executive order requiring state agencies
to use quality standards for some of their biggest health care
purchases, such as diabetes and heart care. He says this could save millions of dollars.
We'll have a report on All Things Considered this evening a proposal to create a "plasma gasification" energy plant. Want to know what that is? Turn up the AC and tune in to ATC.
