Tommy Stinson, famed plaid-suited bassist and beloved local luminary of The Replacements (and more recently Guns N' Roses and Soul Asylum), stopped in last week to chat with us about a cause that's very near to his heart: raising money for the Timkatec Schools in Haiti, a country as we all know that's been devestated beyond belief by its recent earthquake. Tommy acknowledges such efforts amount to a small thing in the grand scale of the tragedy, but after going there and witnessing the destruction, all he knows is he's been changed by his experience, and he wants to do something. So, he's raising money by holding an auction of some of his classic gear, clothes, and even some autographed mementos. We talked with him about his auction, and yes, we talked music too.
