So here's the third episode of Lucia Pets from the Wells Fargo Family Farm at the Minnesota Zoo.
Holding a freshly-peeped chick was like cradling a "Puffs Plus" tissue. I've never handled anything so delicate and was grateful there were no "Of Mice and Men" incidents. After staring at it's gumball-sized head popping out of my hands for a few minutes, it got a little science-fictiony. I felt as though I needed to tell this six-hour old chick that I was there in peace.
I do not in anyway endorse buying one for your kids at Easter. Finger lickin' cute.

Episode 1: Goats
Episode 2: Pigs
I grew up in central Wisconsin, and my grandpa worked for Midland feeds, so I was lucky enough to get to hold just-peeped chicks as a very small child. I gotta tell ya, they really do feel like Puffs Plus and no, you really don't want to take them home, no matter how cute they are.
