Hedberg Lettuce

You know, Mitch Hedberg spent many of his formative years here in the Twin Cities. The slacker comedian was born in St. Paul and graduated from Harding High School. Naturally, we always felt he was on a crash-course with legend status. He had the potential to make just as many people laugh just as hard as Lenny Bruce, George Carlin, or Eddie Murphy ever did. So it was a real tragedy when he died last year at the age of 37.

Finally, the people in control of Mitch's "estate" have made more of his unique humor available to the public, through this random quote generator.

I was at a park and saw a kid flying a kite. He was so excited that his kite was in the sky. I don't know why, that's what they're supposed to do. Now had he had a chair on the other end of that string, I would have known. Imagine trying to fly a chair. You'd have to run like a mother... I was on the Craig Kilborne show and the next day I flew to Minneapolis. I was at the airport, and a guy came up, he said, "Dude, I saw you on TV last night." But he did not say whether or not he thought it was good. He just confirmed that I was on television. So I turned my head away from him for about a minute, then I turned back and said, "Dude, I saw you at the airport, about a minute ago... you were good."

And one that we really take to heart:

I type a 101 words a minute. But it's in my own language.
