I took in "Slumdog Millionaire" for the second time over the weekend, and came away more impressed than ever.
There isn't a single misstep anywhere along the way.
The story is great, the cinematography is drop-dead brilliant, and the characters are completely engaging. It's for this latter point that director Danny Boyle has to receive a huge amount of credit.
It's hard enough to get characters to work on screen, but to have three different people of such a wide range of ages playing each of the three central characters at different times in their lives, and somehow make it even cohesive, let alone to make it sing, it just remarkable.
