The results are in, and it's interesting to compare what the truly unscientific Movie Natters poll with the cold hard cash numbers from the box office.
"Marley and Me" dashed ahead of the competition, with the other family friendly flick "Bedtime Stories" hard on its heels. Intriguingly the Movie Natters fave "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" which was in third place going into the weekend, snatched the second spot by the time Sunday rolled around.
As ever the devil is in the details however: when you look at the highest per screen earner as detailed by Media By the Numbers, it's "Revolutionary Road" with $64,000 per screen. Of course it's only showing on three screens nationwide at present, getting legal for the Oscars. It opens here Friday. Another high earner is Clint Eastwood's "Gran Torino" which despite it's local connections doesn't open here until January 6th.
