Louis Sachar admits he was surprised when he learned his agent had arranged for him to have the right to veto up to three writers on the film adaptation of his hit novel "Holes." He was even more surprised when director Andrew Davis asked him to write a script too.
What is really amusing is even after writing and rewriting the script, and being on the set almost every day, he didn't expect to enjoy the film. Yet when he finally saw it he liked it so much he went to see it many times.
