Let the political films begin

Posted at 5:51 PM on August 20, 2008 by Euan Kerr

With the Democratic and Republican conventions just around the corner some local film purveyors are seizing the day and entering the political waters.

First up this weekend Minnesota Film Arts is hosting director Dorothy Fadiman and co-producer Bruce O'Dell at the Oak Street as they present "Stealing America: Vote by Vote" which examines what happened in the last Presidential election and some key races in other recent elections too. The run begins Friday and goes through Monday. The film makers will speak at each 7 pm show.

The following week the Oak will present David Modigliani's "Crawford" which is a portrait of President Bush's Texas hometown and the everyday realities of that town in today's America. The film maker will also be present for these screenings.
