Sad news about Jeune Lune

Posted at 9:55 PM on June 22, 2008 by Euan Kerr

The MPR Arts Unit has been working most of the weekend on the news that Theater de la Jeune Lune is closing as a result of huge debts.

From a movie point of view it's fun to think back of where several of the Jeune Lune alumni have ended up. Brian Baumgartner is now on "The Office." Sarah Agnew appeared both in "Older than America" and "Detective Fiction."

I have to admit one of my favorite chats with Dominique Serrand was about his own brush with movie stardom. He was one of the local actors hired by Dario Argento when he made "Trauma" in the Twin Cities back in the early 90's.

As often happens with characters in Argento films Serrand's character met an unfortunate end, which necessitated the construction of a second Serrand head. Dominique was very keen to get his hands on that particular movie momento, but I have never heard if he was successful.
