The term visual feast is sadly overused, but it is for films like Mirrormask where it should be reserved. Dave McKean's famed design skills move effortlessly into the world of film and he fills the screen with with stunning images. The film took a month to shoot, and then months and months to finish with all the special effects. However while it's been done on a relatively small budget, it's much more satisfying than some of the other recent CGI behemoths, like the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy.
