It's a busy week here at Movie Natters Towers. ("Towers?" you say. "What towers?" Well, dear reader, the towers of stuff to be waded through about upcoming movies for one thing.)
With just a few days before the Minneapolis St Paul International Film Festival, a couple of things are becoming evident. Firstly this is going to be the largest MSPIFF ever in terms of sheer number of films. Fest director Al Milgrom admits it's the largest by just three or four, but it's still a new record. (He also admits he's not entirely sure how to count the various programs, containing as some of them do several shorts.)
Secondly Milgrom says that the festival is presenting a particular challenge for audiences. There's a lot to see and it's a quality selection.
The first weekend alone (Friday through Sunday) includes about 60 films, and so it's going to take some serious study of the schedule to decide what you want to see.
Most of the films are being screened at the St Anthony Maon Theaters, so it will be possible to see a few flicks back to back.
