I have written in the past about a Scottish film called "Seachd." It's believed to be the first full length feature film made in Gaelic.
Now comes a new wrinkle.
The film was in contention for being the British entry for the Best Foreign Language Oscar. This is the category where countries can put forward a single film which is then considered for the final nominations for the Oscars themselves.
However the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) decided against putting forward any films for the category this year, igniting accusations of being 'anti-Gaelic.'
