As director of the Sound Unseen Festival, which opens in Minneapolis tonight, Gretchen Williams has the delight and the challenge of creating a program of movies for music lovers.
The idea behind Sound Unseen is to provide an outlet for films which can often fall between the cracks in the mainstream. These are the concert films, the music concept movies, and the profiles of great musicians laboring long and hard in obscurity.
The event is smaller than some years past, but Williams says that will make it a little easier for patrons.
She told me about some of the films about which she's particularly excited, and you can hear all about those here.
