I have complained about movies on planes before, but just experienced another annoyance: having a movie which you intend to see someday shown on a tiny screen three rows away.

This was one of these planes where dozens of monitors uncurl from the roof when the crew wants you to see something. It works ok for the safety information. But the screen is so small as to make a mockery of the effort put into making the film. There is no point in watching unless you are in the row with the monitor.

Having decided I would rather watch "The Astronaut Farmer" at some other time I was maddened by repeatedly having my eye drawn to some piece of action, which even without the sound you could tell was a dramatic part of the plot.

Despite looking away quickly, I fear the damage has been done.

I spent a couple of frustrating hours in a cooped up space feeling even more cooped up.
