Nick Cage's Uncle coming to Walker: The Walker Art Center has been keeping it remarkably quiet, but Francis Ford Coppola will speak May 23rd. The event will feature a screening of "CODA:Thirty Years Later" a film shot as Coppola directed his first film in a decade ("Youth without youth" which will be released in the fall.) In it Coppola talks about "filmmaking, creativity and the nature of consciousness," as the release puts it. The Coppola celebration actually begins the night before with a screening of "Hearts of Darkness" shot during the making of "Apocalypse Now," which has to be seen to be believed.
Tickets for the Coppola evening go on sale May 8th at 11 am. Tickets are $25, but just $5 for students with ID which shows where Coppola wants to share his wisdom. Expect the tickets to go really fast.
