A couple of us from the station went to see the press preview of the "A Prairie Home Companion" movie this morning. This was as a prelude to the parade of stars who will come through town for local premier at the Fitzgerald on Wednesday.
As a couple of people have pointed out it will certainly be strange to go into a theater to watch a movie that was made almost completely inside that very same building.
What was strange for us was watching a film where we kept seeing people with whom we work appear, walking through in the background. They were only there for a second, but some of them appeared again and again. It got a little hard to watch parts of the film as people nudged and pointed in certain sections.
This is the kind of stuff for which the frame by frame setting on a DVD player was truly designed.
